Exclusive Duggar Wedding Details Part 2
Wedding decorations |
Like many 21st century brides, Jill resorted to Pinterest to find ideas for cute wedding decorations. She purchased much of her supplies on Craigslist from a woman in her area who had tied the knot six months earlier.
Inside the church, the aisles were decorated with Bible verses printed on tree stumps, purchased on Craigslist.
I don't even know how it would be to go and say, 'Hey, can you print 1 Corinthians on some tree stumps for me?' So that saved us on cost, which was really beneficial.
At the wedding reception, guests snacked on sweet and salty foods, all prepared by volunteers.
I'm telling you, my volunteer team was dynamic. It was so incredible. We had stations set up all over Springdale, Arkansas...the week before.
Sierra was told to plan for 3,000 guests, although only 1,000-1,500 attended.
Sweet Table
2,000 cupcakes
3,000 chocolate chip cookies baked at a cookie making party at the Duggars' house
3,000 root beer floats
Salty Table
Salty Table
Popcorn
Trail mix
Pickles
Chips and homemade salsa made by one of Jill's clients
Although Sierra had a blast helping Jill plan the perfect Pinterest wedding, the highlight for her was ensuring that Derick's mom, who is battling cancer, was able to stay close by her son's side throughout the reception. Derick's mom missed the rehearsal dinner and arrived at the wedding in a wheel chair directly from the hospital.

That was probably something I will carry in my heart forever, just watching the beauty of a young couple really honor the Lord, really know that they love each other...and then watching this young couple continue to honor their parents to the day of their wedding and beyond.
